The official website for Gintama The Final, the new anime film of Hideaki Sorachi’s Gintama manga, announced on Wednesday that the film has sold “roughly one million” tickets. There will be two final stage greetings with the film’s voice actors during two February 13 screenings at Tokyo’s Shinjuku Wald 9 theater to commemorate the milestone. The stage greetings will also stream live to theaters throughout Japan. The film earned 102,029,700 yen (about US$972,600) from Friday to Sunday, and has earned a cumulative total of 1,266,877,640 yen (about US$12.07 million). Oricon revealed on Friday its top 50 manga ranking for the week of January 11-17, and all 15 volumes of Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen manga (including the volume 0 prequel) ranked in the top 16 spots for the week. The 14th and most recent volume of the manga sold 190,724 copies in the week, for a total of 845,366 since the volume released on January 4. The 33rd volume of Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan manga topped the chart. Amazon Prime Video has removed the Scum’s Wish, Yuki Yuna Is a Hero, The Great Passage, Eromanga Sensei, and Just Because! anime from its service in the United States. The listings for all five anime are still available, but the anime are not available to stream. The Scum’s Wish anime premiered in Japan on Amazon Prime Video and Fuji TV’s Noitamina programming block in January 2017. Amazon Prime Video exclusively streamed the anime series in Japan and abroad, including in the United States as part of its now-defunct Anime Strike service. The April issue of Akita Shoten’s Young Champion Red magazine revealed on Tuesday that manga creator Seiman Douman is launching a new manga titled Vivarium de Chōshoku o (Breakfast at the Vivarium) in the magazine’s next issue on February 19. The manga centers on three friends who meet up at morning to get to the bottom of their town’s “seven mysteries.” The magazine describes the manga as having an “inevitable anime adaptation.” The manga will have a color opening page. Douman launched The Voynich Hotel manga in Akita Shoten’s Young Champion Retsu magazine in 2006 and ended it in March 2014. Akita Shoten published the series in three compiled volumes.......

The official website for the Detective Conan anime films announced on Wednesday that, in anticipation of the upcoming Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet (Meitantei Conan: Hiiro no Dangan0 film, the franchise will have a new compilation film titled Meitantei Conan: Hiiro no Fuzai Shōmei (Detective Conan: The Scarlet Alibi). This year’s fourth issue of Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume magazine announced on Wednesday that Yu Tomofuji’s Sacrificial Princess & the King of Beasts (Niehime to Kemono no Ō) manga is inspiring a television anime adaptation. The manga also published a new prequel “episode.0” chapter in the fourth issue of Hana to Yume magazine, as well as the series’ 15th and final compiled book volume on Wednesday. The official website for the six-part Girls und Panzer das Finale film series revealed a trailer, commercial, key visual, and the March 26 opening date for the series’ third film on Wednesday. Director Tsutomu Mizushima had revealed last May that production of the film was continuing.
